We Banjo 3

Saturday, Dec. 04 | 8:00pm ET (7:00pm CT)

BluegrassCeltic/British Isles

We Banjo 3 (WB3) hosts “A Winter Wonderful,” a very special performance celebrating the holiday season. Billboard Bluegrass chart-toppers, and virtuoso players, We Banjo 3 have fine-tuned their knack for seamlessly converging the shared and varied traditions of Americana, Bluegrass, and Celtic music with pop-sensible songcraft to create a truly unique signature sound. The Galway, Ireland quartet––comprised of two sets of brothers, Enda & Fergal Scahill and Martin & David Howley––continually push musical boundaries while maintaining an unwavering devotion to the essential audience experience. WB3’s “A Winter Wonderful” live show will feature traditional holiday tunes from both Ireland and from the U.S. and of course plenty of the fan-favorite original compositions that have made them such a beloved live band.

“We Banjo 3 has something impossibly beautiful at its heart, what they do they do better than anyone else”- Wall Street Journal

About the Artists:

Debuting in the U.S. in 2012, We Banjo 3 has since emerged as fast-rising touring darlings in the country that two of the members now call home. WB3 seamlessly converge the shared and varied traditions of Americana, Bluegrass, and Celtic music with pop-sensible songcraft to create a truly unique and gratifying signature sound. Brilliantly commanded instruments––banjo, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and percussion––effortlessly elevate lead singer David Howley’s propulsive voice. Live on stage, their songs carry the listener along until, at the perfect moment, the band crescendos into catchy choruses with pitch-perfect harmonies. We Banjo 3 deliver their music with such palpable rapport, stunning precision, and infectious energy, it’s impossible to pigeonhole what kind of listener might suddenly consider themselves a WB3 fan. With recent stunning performances at such broad-ranging festivals Merlefest, BottleRock, Summercamp, ROMP, Wintergrass and others, enthusiasts of almost every genre of music are taking notice.

Shawn Mullins Returns with opener Andreas Kapsalis

Wednesday, Nov. 03 | 8:00pm ET (7:00pm CT)

AmericanaSinger-Songwriter

After a series of indie record releases, Shawn Mullins’ critical breakthrough came when 1998 Soul’s Core album shot him to fame on the strength of its Grammy-nominated No. 1 hit, “Lullaby” followed by AAA/Americana No. 1 “Beautiful Wreck” from 2006’s 9th Ward Pickin’ Parlor. His song, “Shimmer” was used in promotion of the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and was included on the Dawson’s Creek soundtrack. He co-wrote “All in My Head” which was featured in episode one of the hit TV sitcom “Scrubs.” Mullins also co-wrote the Zac Brown Band’s No. 1 country tune “Toes.”
In early 2002, he formed super group The Thorns with Matthew Sweet and Pete Droge. For the 20th anniversary, Shawn revisited the music on Soul’s Core and recorded two new versions of the album. He calls this Soul’s Core Revival. This is not a remix or a remaster of the original, but rather brand new recordings with new arrangements of the songs – one album is new stripped down solo performances, some on guitar, some on piano and maybe one a cappella and the second is a new studio recording with his full band, Soul Carnival.

Chuck Prophet Debuts!

Thursday, Oct. 28 | 8:00pm ET (7:00pm CT)

Rock/PopSinger-Songwriter

Charles Prophet is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. A Californian, Prophet first achieved notice in the American psychedelic/desert rock group Green On Red, with whom he toured and recorded in the 1980s. He has also recorded several solo records and gained prominence as a musician and songwriter.

Since his neo-psychedelic Green On Red days, Chuck Prophet has been turning out country, folk, blues, and Brill Building classicism. His latest release, THE LAND THAT TIME FORGET is something different, a weather vane picking up signals from outer space – or maybe it's the Heartland. Priced out of his beloved hometown, San Francisco, Prophet found himself re-energized in Upstate NY just a few miles from the Vermont border – and made a record that is much a 21st-century exorcism as it is America.

Chuck has gone on to have his compositions and co-writes recorded by many artists including Alejandro Escovedo, Bruce Springsteen, Solomon Burke, Heart, Michael Grimm, Kim Carnes, Peter Wolf, Kim Richey, Carter's Chord, Jace Everett, Arc Angels, Micky & the Motorcars, Bun E. Carlos, Mark Erelli, Mofro, Kevin Bowe, Calvin Russell, Chris Knight, and Kelly Willis. He has toured with Memphis producer and pianist Jim Dickinson, who recorded Prophet's "Hungry Town". In Nashville, Tennessee, Prophet, and songwriter Kim Richey penned "I'm Gone", a top-40 country hit in 2002 for singer Cyndi Thomson.

BoDeans - 2nd SHOW!

Sunday, Sep. 05 | 8:00pm ET (7:00pm CT)

Rock/Pop

Those who have followed BoDeans’ remarkable 30-year musical career know that their blend of compelling songs and high energy performances have retained an unpretentious rock & roll loyal following like no other. Best known for their catchy single, “Closer To Free,” the band’s accessible adult alternative sound has led to many a milestone, including a Rolling Stone Reader’s Poll for Best New American Band in 1987, and support slots with U2, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Tom Petty, George Thorogood, The Pretenders, David Bowie and numerous others. Appearances at Farm Aid, Summerfest, ACL Festival and others followed, along with TV appearances on “Saturday NightLive,” “Letterman,” “Today,” “Imus,” CNN, and ESPN, to name a few. BoDeans have a permanent installation at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland as part of their Midwest Artists exhibit.

After multiple chart-topping radio singles, and TV placements, BoDeans have defined a generation that embraced songs like “Good Things,” “You Don’t Get Much,” “Idaho,” “If It Makes You,” “Closer To Free,” “Stay,” and “All The World.” BoDeans signed their first recording contract with Slash/Warner Brothers Records in 1985 and their debut record, “Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams” was released May, 1986. Since then, they have released 12 studio albums with ten records that hit the Billboard Top 200 Chart, and numerous singles on the Mainstream Rock, Top 40 and Triple A radio charts.

Few would expect them to still be going strong – so many years after Wisconsin’s favorite musical sons first formed, but they’ve proved as energetic and determined as they did on day one. Their music is featured throughout the new Netflix original series, “The Ranch,” which features Sam Elliott, Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson and Debra Winger. They have major festival dates confirmed for the summer, and a new single coming out that is sure to be another chart-topper. BoDeans now reside in a small group of bands that have managed to survive the ups and downs of the industry, remaining true to their sound and their style, for 30 years, and show no signs of slowing down.

A John Prine Celebration

Saturday, Aug. 21 | 8:00pm ET (7:00pm CT)

CountryFolkSinger-Songwriter

Please join us for a special night celebrating the music of John Prine. Featured are Doug Harsch, Anna p.s., The Menards, Russell John and Jamie Wagner.

John Prine, a gifted songwriter from Chicago, sometimes called the Singing Mailman--because he left his job as a letter carrier to pursue a music career--passed away last spring, an early casualty of COVID-19. This universally-hailed songwriter left us with an amazing body of poignant, and often funny, songs. His turn of phrase--unlike anyone else’s--allowed him to spin heartwarming tales punctuated with joy and truth about otherwise ordinary situations. We want you to celebrate with us as a group of gifted musicians put their spin on songs that represent a cross-section of his storied career.

About the Artists:

Doug HarschDoug Harsch
Doug Harsch is a singer/songwriter in the time-honored tradition--writing and singing songs with a heart covered in the dust of life with a sound that invokes the grand American story. His smart, fun, hand-clapping, foot-stomping songs are full of both the joy and grit that life brings with it. This South Bend, Indiana-based troubadour has been playing a brand of music--a stew of folk, blues, bluegrass and rock--that he affectionately calls “Rockin’ Americana Folk” around the Michiana area for the last seven years at various coffeehouses, listening rooms, eateries, farmers markets, festivals and special events all across the landscape. You can hear several of his songs on his original recordings, “Right Now,” and “Bound to Break Your Heart” which are available on BandCamp.

Anna p.s.Anna p.s.
Indie folk musician Anna p.s. conveys a sense of weariness throughout her simple but resonant songs, but it’s a weariness that keeps a blanket of hope tucked up under its chin, even as the rain keeps falling outside the windows. Grace always lurks around the corner on tunes that layer delicate vulnerability over the hearty stock of this songwriter’s spirit. With technical acumen acquired during an early career as an audio engineer and a humble but confident stage presence groomed as a founding member of indie roots rock band Shiny Shiny Black, Anna stepped out as a solo musician in 2014. She’s been on the road intermittently ever since, and her debut LP Umbrella released in July 2016, showcasing her signature sonic blend of melancholy, hope, and resilience.

The MenardsThe Menards
Band namesake Tim Menard is a Chicago singer-songwriter veteran, and has played with his fiddle-playing bride, Cathie Van Wert, for decades. Featuring Tim’s indelible original tunes mixed with some carefully curated covers, The Menards spin aspects of folk, rock and country into a rich web of Americana.

Russell JohnRussell John
Russell John is a Milwaukee-born singer/songwriter/guitarist that found a home in the Michiana music community after years of traveling the country with an original rock band. A huge fan of the blues & Bowie, his own songwriting influences run the gamut from Guthrie to Prine to Earle.

Jamie WagnerJamie Wagner
Jamie Wagner is an independent singer and songwriter based in Three Oaks Michigan and has been writing, composing, and performing his original music around the Chicago area for over 3 decades. Jamie recorded and produced “The Postman Delivers: A Musicians Tribute to John Prine” in 2010 which includes 20 of John Prine’s best songs done by local bands and musicians. Jamie has performed at many John Prine tribute shows and is regularly backed by many of Chicago’s leading musicians and multi-instrumentalists.

The Cash Box Kings

Friday, Jun. 10 | 8:00pm ET (7:00pm CT)

BluesRock/Pop

With deep feeling and top-shelf talent, house-rocking blues masters The Cash Box Kings play tough, real deal classic Chicago blues with boundless energy. They also deliver raw, passionate Delta blues, jumping proto-rock ‘n’ roll, and steamrolling “bluesabilly,” their original mix of Chicago blues and Memphis rockabilly. As anyone who has ever been to one of the band’s raucous performances will testify, The Cash Box Kings know how to throw a party.

They’re fueled by the powerhouse harmonica work of Madison, Wisconsin-based songwriter Joe Nosek and the huge, gritty vocals of Chicago bluesman Oscar Wilson. Their original songs range from humorous stories of Internet love to harrowing tales of Chicago’s violent gun epidemic. Every song they perform—be it a striking original or a scorching Chess, Sun or Vee-Jay cover —explodes with contemporary authority and radiates old-school authenticity. According to Grammy Award-winning blues legend Charlie Musselwhite, “The Cash Box Kings play with real taste and feel. Not only is it good blues but it’s a jumping good time, too! I ain’t lyin’!”

“One of the best blues bands in the land.”Living Blues

“Virtuoso musicianship...rocking and irresistible.”No Depression

“Gloriously retro with an inspiring eloquence and grace.”Vintage Guitar
