Laura Madsen Jolly

  • Board member since 2019
  • Resident of New Buffalo, MI

Like many of us, Laura and her husband Fred fell in love with The Acorn when they saw their first show [Shawn Mullins] in April of 2017. So inspired by our wonderfully funky theater, they have both been active contributors ever since. Laura has been a strong volunteer leader on the Hospitality side of our events, notably co-chairing our primary VIP and Annual Benefit fundraisers for the last two years. Now on Acorn's board, she heads our Development efforts as Chair of that committee.

Laura enjoyed a 25-year career in information technology, holding various positions in sales and sales leadership and living and traveling all across the U.S. It is in her last position as a global business development manager with Hewlett-Packard where she met Fred in downtown Chicago, and upon retiring from Hewlett-Packard in 2012, they traveled for a couple of years in a motorhome [yes, they're still married!] visiting all 59 of our country's national parks before settling down in New Buffalo at the end of 2016.

Passionate about the Harbor Country community, Laura keeps very busy here. She volunteers with many Rotary Club programs as well as the Chikaming Open Lands Mighty Acorns program, and she is also the reluctant chair of her homeowners association.

Laura is a graduate from the University of Wisconsin where she earned a BA in Journalism and an MBA.
