This year’s fundraiser will feature The Resurrection Blues Band, an outstanding local favorite recently honored with the 2024 Herald-Palladium Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Local Entertainment and Best Blues Rock Band. Known for their exceptional musicianship and soul-deep connection with audiences, the band delivers a powerful, high-energy blues experience that is both heartfelt and unforgettable.

Funds raised through this event will directly support SAM’s expanding slate of community initiatives launching in 2026, including scholarships, free family concerts, inclusive music programs, and new participatory projects designed to bring people together through music.

The School of American Music was founded by D. Garth Taylor in 2012 to serve as a music resource in southwest Michigan. The school offers Harbor Country an array of services, including free concerts, music enrichment assemblies and after-school instruction in local public schools, and outdoor singalongs and music festivals.

About The Acorn Center for the Performing Arts

The Acorn brings great known performers and amazing new ones to southwest Michigan.  Located in the historic featherbone factory, The Acorn’s friendly staff and volunteers, and an acoustically rich sound system combine for memorable experiences. We’re located in Three Oaks, Michigan …  just over an hour from downtown Chicago and 30 minutes from South Bend, IN.

The Acorn, a nonprofit organization, annually hosts a singer songwriter competition and a Spectacular Tournament of Playwrights. Our Open Mic nights showcase a variety of strong talent and our educational workshops include songwriting and master classes in performance.
