About the Artists:

Fresh off of her back-to-back JMA Artist of the Year awards in 2023 & 2024 (taking place at The Grand Ole Opry), and 5X 2025 International Folk Music Award noms, Abbie Thomas is a rising singer songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and soul-pop/R&B recording artist who is gaining international attention and accolades for live performances, lyricism and visual content. Mixing genre-bending arrangements with soulful vocals and hints of Blues, Jazz, and a vibe from the songwriters of the ‘70s, music lovers are connecting with her honest songwriting, powerful vocals, and "everyone-in-the-room-is-a-friend" live performances.

California born, midwest raised, a nomad from nowhere and everywhere, other lost yet hopeful souls may find themselves listening to her catalogue while on a roadtrip with a new found love, while drinking a bottle of wine in a rainstorm, or when in search for clarity and strength. Her story telling and versatile musicianship shines just like a mended heart, and turns strangers into kindred spirits. Her lyrics and vocals are grabbing people, and keeping them locked in from the start:

"...Abbie's ageless vocal, sitting somewhere between Diana Ross and Kacey Musgraves, certainly the cherry on top of this musical cake..." - Paul Jackson, FATEA

Influenced by artists such as Carole King, Lauryn Hill, Ray Charles and even movie scores by Rachel Portman, she is known for reading a room on the fly and morphing her live shows to mirror the mood of an audience. You can find gut wrenching piano ballads in a Chicago listening room, to jazzy and head-nodding and danceable soul and blues tunes in a hotel piano bar with her backing band, ‘The Crazy Hearts.'

Thomas's highly anticipated & fan-funded album released on September 27, 2024, and featured the title track, "Not Gonna Lie", which debuted at #3 on the iTunes R&B/Soul chart. This project has earned nearly 200,000 streams on all platforms - as an independent artist. You can stream her music on all major streaming platforms.

The Crazy Hearts backing band is made up of some of Michiana's most talented musicians; Simon Kauffman Hurst on keys/organ, Isaac Fisher on upright bass, and the newest member, Rafael Chávez on electric guitar.
