Fred and his wife, Laura, who is currently an Acorn board member, have been involved with the Acorn since they moved to Harbor Country in 2016. In early 2017 they attended their first Acorn show, and within the next week went to two other shows, and to draw from Casablanca, it was “the beginning of a beautiful friendship.” Before landing in this special part of Michigan, Fred had a career in private banking and wealth management in Chicago. In 2014 he and Laura launched on a two-and-a-half-year odyssey in a motorhome named Charley that took them to every National Park and all 50 states. As the result of great fortune and serendipity, they set their circus down in New Buffalo. In Chicago Fred was a member of the Chicago Symphony Planned Giving Advisory Board, and currently supports numerous local not-for-profits, including the Fernwood Botanical Gardens in Buchanan, MI. But his real passion is for The Acorn, the Gem of Harbor Country, where he currently leads its Acorn Grows Capital Campaign.
